It opens flat like a case rather than a rucksack, so you pack it on a bed instead of balancing it on your knee at the gate.

The first run is in transit. We are putting a sample through a gate sizer the day it lands and publishing what it actually measures, along with capacity and empty weight. We would rather leave a number blank than estimate it.

BA have withdrawn the hand baggage allowances page we used to read, and now publish the figure through an interactive baggage calculator instead of on a page we can link you to. The figure shown is the last one we read from them, on 13 September 2026, and we have left it here because it is more useful than a blank. Treat it as the last known figure rather than a checked one, and confirm it in BA's own calculator before you fly.

British Airways sets 40 x 30 x 15, so a bag 20 cm deep goes in the overhead locker instead. Every row in the table above links to the airline page it came from. Not yet, and we are not going to pretend otherwise. The first run is still in transit. The maker's own listing and our spec do not agree on the height, so we are measuring a sample with a gate sizer the day it lands and publishing what we get, whichever way it falls. Nothing ships before that.
No. The fabric is water-repellent nylon and the maker rates it for light rain. The zips are not sealed, so it is not a dry bag and we will not call it one. There is a separate lined pocket on the front for wet kit, so a damp towel stays away from everything else.
A nylon outer with a polyester lining, and two-way zips throughout. The shoe compartment sits at the base and is vented. Capacity and empty weight go up as measured figures once we have a bag in hand.
